Hi! I’m Tom, the creator of SnapVinyl, a vinyl collector and app developer who wanted a better way to enjoy and manage my record library.
A Vinyl Lover First My journey with vinyl started years ago, and it quickly grew from a small shelf to a collection of several hundred records. Each record has its own story, and organizing them became part of the joy.
“Inside the sleeve, I found a newspaper clipping from a previous owner — a feature article about this album published at the time in a Japanese rock & folk column.”

I’ve spent countless hours discovering new pressings, hunting for rare editions, and cataloging everything on Discogs. Vinyl isn’t just a hobby for me, it’s part of my daily rhythm.
Why I Built SnapVinyl
As someone who uses Discogs every day, I often wished for a cleaner, faster, and more modern way to browse my collection.
Since I’m also an app developer, I decided to combine my two passions, vinyl collecting and building thoughtful, user-friendly tools.
SnapVinyl is my personal take on what a Discogs companion app can be: simple, elegant, and made for people who truly love records.

My Setup People often ask about the gear I use, so here’s a look at my current vinyl setup, the heart of where SnapVinyl was born.
